  • Does anyone know if any of the above options has the ability to limit users to access a particular page or post?
I want to create a directory site and give business owners/users the ability to update their page if they subscribe.
Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.
    Thanks

RE: wp-member, I purchased it today after sending several questions to make sure it does what I need. I can say that I am entirely disappointing with the product and feel like I’ve been deliberately ripped off.

They make a big deal out of their customer support but if you have a problem and attempt to contact them, they want to charge an additional fee for tech support. That’s right ZERO included tech support for your license fee. If you dig around enough, you find out that they cancelled included ticket based tech support at the end of March, 2009 (14 days before my purchase!!) – what does that tell you about the product.

My big problems included some serious issues with installing the plugin on a subdomain wp install. I had to have my host figure out their problem (kudos to bluehost for that). NExt, when trying to test the paypal gateway via the paypal sandbox, I keep getting error messages saying the incoming link is invalid and it then redirects to the originating site. Of course, this is after a visitor fill sout a user registration form and signs into their paypal account.

I’ve sent wp-member an email about this several hours ago but haven’t heard anything back. I don’t have high hopes and strongly suggest finding a different option. In the meantime I’m still looking so if anyone has a first hand successful experience from a reputable company, please let me know.

    Hi Haloscope,

I notice you are working with esaypaypal. I would like to be able to do same as it fits my purpose. Installation and activation and setup of plugin all worked well except for payment. On a test, after registering, and paying, I received this response
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare easypaypal_postpayment() (previously declared in /3.5-easypaypal.php:87) in /easypaypal.php on line 123
And, even after my payment went through, I still was unable to login in and receive full access.
I tried deactivating and deleting. The uploaded and reactivated but same problem. I even tried dropping down to ver3.2 with same results.
How do I remove all information relating to the plugin so that I have a completely fresh and clean install, and that no previous information is placed in the newly activated admin panel?
I posted this same info on the forum but no response yet.
