[Resolved] Patterned Background doesn’t show in IE

  • When viewing my blog in IE, my patterned background (from geeksmakemehot.com) does not show up. I only see a white background. The blog looks normal in Firefox, etc.

  • Check your style sheet. If you change line #99 to this:
    background: url('tan4.gif');
    all should work in both IE and Firefox. The “repeat” is unnecessary and you need a semicolon at the end of the line.

    that’s it! Thank you so much!

    Why is it in IE that even if a choose a different color for my background, pages still display with a white background? Can this be changed? In Firefox and Netscape, I choose a gray background and I get a gray background.

    I found no problem in IE6. I changed your background color to #404040; and the entire blog went dark grey.

    You might need to double check your #body background semi-colons, colons and hashes (: ; #)
