• I am looking for a plugin or plugins (or workaround) to do the following:

    1) Create a 3 column (symptom) tracker where a patient can enter a number 1-10 (and be able to add a simple short note if necessary).
    2) Have that info added to their “file” or “database” or spreadsheet in a way that we both can track the symptoms
    3) Have that larger spreadsheet or data collection tabulate over weeks/months and present a progress graph

    My ignorant guesses:
    1) Google sheet / wordpress plugin combo somehow?

I want to put this into a patient portal so each patient can login, enter data, get results.

    Thanks in advance.
    Tom

  • While there are indeed a number of plugins that offer some sort of graph functionality in the WordPress repository (here: https://wordpress.org/plugins/search/graph/) I would caution you to obtain legal advice from a licensed professional in the relevant jurisdiction before proceeding.
Medical information is regarded as particularly sensitive and are subject to very strict data protection standards in many jurisdictions.
I believe that it is unlikely that a generic plugin solution will be able to deal with those specific requirements.
Please note that this does not constitute any type of professional advice, legal or other.

Furthermore, dealing with user inputs require adherence to best security practices, particularly validating / sanitizing / escaping data.
You may wish to consult with an experienced developer.

Thanks for your response. I am aware of HIPAA requirements. Security and best practices to protect against data breach are always an issue.
But, there are numerous plugins that allow a backend user specific private area for messaging, etc. which is perfectly acceptable.
I was looking for something for user specific (login) portal tracking for individuals who would be able to login, access a simple data tracking sheet, and have that sheet translate to graphics that would allow them to visually monitor their own progress.
