Password not expiring after time

    Maybe I am misunderstanding how this works, but I set the “Expire passwords after x hours” field to .1, which should be just a few minutes. I assumed that after that time the password would expire and the page would no longer be available to the user who had accessed it with that password. Is this not how it works?

    Hi Tim,

    Did you see and take into account this info:

    Note that the actual deletion of the passwords is triggered by a cronjob which is run every 30 minutes. So even if you set your expiry time to very short, it may still take 30 minutes until the password really expires.

    Yes, I waited a few hours and the page was still accessible. Maybe I am not understanding what happens after the time limit… the page should no longer be accessible to the user that used that password, right?

    Also, I didn’t select “Delete used passwords”

    Hi @yoyoma1974 ,

    sorry for the late reply, I was on vacation 😉

    Maybe you already found out, but you also have to activate “Delete used passwords” to make this work.

    So the password won’t actually expire unless “Delete used paswords” is selected?

    exactly, deletion and expiration of the passwords is essentially the same here.
