Support » Plugin: Contact Form 7 » Pasting into a textarea

  • Hi!
I have a client using Contact Form 7 for a number of forms. In general everything works like a charm!

The problem is that when people with a Mac (or iPhone, iPad, etc.) compose their message in Pages (Apple’s document editor), or in Google Docs or the like, and then, using Safari, paste into a Contact Form 7 textarea and then submit the form, they get the following error…

“Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.”

This only happens when someone is using an Apple product… There seem to be no problems pasting from a Windows PC. Evidently, the hidden HTML comes along for the ride and messes up the sending of the form.

Is there a way to make a textarea immune to hidden characters/code? Can it be made to strip the hidden stuff on pasting so that the form works with copy and pasting from Apple products without having to tell folks to not copy and paste at all or if they must, to first paste it into TextEdit and then copy and paste from that?

I sure hope you can shed some light on the problem.

    Thank you!!
