Hi @predajob Many thanks for your patience on this. It took me a few days to test this as I had to wait for traffic and ads after switching to a www prefix myself – on a site with traffic.
I’m going to share my findings to the team and I’ll report back to you here. As with yourself I only see data based on the newer domain in both AdSense and Analytics. At the moment I don’t have any workaround and I can’t state whether it’s possible to consolidate data between www and non www with both dashboards.
Thank you for your efforts @jamesosborne.
Please keep me posted if a fix comes around.
Have a nice day
No problem, thank you for bringing this to our attention while also going to the trouble of providing supporting information. With that I’ve created the following GitHub issue which you can subscribe to:
https://github.com/google/site-kit-wp/issues/3005
You were also correct when suggesting a filter is in place resulting in the non reporting of your non www data. I don’t have any workarounds at present but I’ll also check this with the team and let you know whether there is a temporary workaround that can be applied.
@predajob Just to keep you updated I’ve checked and we don’t have a filter that ensures your non www data is included within your www data for the Site Kit Analytics and AdSense dashboards. We are however prioritizing a solution as per the GitHub issue for the next plugin release.
Hi James it seems I missed your last messages!
Thanks so much for your support and for bringing a possible solution to the plugin soon.
Will let you know when data shows correctly.
Cheers.
Great! Thanks again for brining this to our attention. I suspect this will be released with the plugin 1.30.0, it didn’t make it to the last release. We do product updates every 2 weeks, at that point your data between www and non www should be consolidated. I’ll update you here also once it’s ready.
@predajob Many thanks for your patience on this. We’ve just released Site Kit version 1.30.0, which has a fix in place to account for these www changes. You’ll find details by visiting the related GitHub issue.
Can you please update to the latest version before checking your Analytics dashboard once more? It would be great to know if this now works as expected on your site. Thank you also for helping us identify this, in turn making it an improved experience for users making such changes.
Hi @jamesosborne,
I have recovered all past data for Analytics and Adsense, this is awesome, thanks to you and the dev team.
FYI, data from search console is still missing though.
Best regards.
@predajob Excellent, many thanks for the update. In relation to Search Console if you want to open a new support topic we’d be happy to troubleshoot this with you. We may need to troubleshoot any variations of properties you have at Search Console level, include domain type properties if any.
