Cant see the problem on the pafe as the shortcode is disabled but this is the shortcode

[ecs-list-events eventdetails=’true’ order=’DESC’ past=’yes’ limit=”2″]

Using DESC to invert the array

What I want to achieve is:-
1. Show the 2 most recent ‘past’ events preferably in ASC order
2. Disable the a href link on the title
3. Change the title css color to a light grey.

Another way os to move/copy events into an archive category which would address 1 but not 2 and 3

An extra class of ‘past’ would be helpful for 3

Is there a way using the shortcode to acheive any of this please?

For 3. I made a video on finding elements and determining what CSS rules to add which might be helpful:

Something like .ecs-event-list .entry-title { color: #aaa; } (or whatever color you want if not #aaa grey) should do the trick.

For 1. the past='yes' order='DESC' limit='2' as you have it is the best way to show the last 2 events in the past.

Hi Brian
For 2: that function stops all links, how do I specifically target a particular event please? This may be a bit of a moot question as last 2 ‘past events’ is a movable feast as far as an event title or id goes.

For 1: We have come up with a cunning plan, that being to move past events into an archive category (so they can be easily recovered when the artist returns) so only the last 2 most recent events are in a ‘live’ category and obviously move the oldest event each time another event becomes ‘past’. Kinda works.

For 3: I encapsulated the passed concerts area in the widget with a span class

[ecs-list-events eventdetails=’true’ past=’yes’ limit=”3″]
</span>
that enabled me to override the css with
.previous .entry-title a { color: #939393; cursor: none; }

So in effect by a crooked way I have accomplished all 3 objectives, thank you for your help, especially the tutorial as that gave me this idea, and I hope that what I have done here might help you at some point in answering any similar question.

Hi MikeKJ,

A condition like this might work:
```
function ecs_remove_link( $content ) {
   if ( 123 === get_the_ID() ) {
      $content = '';
   }
   return $content;
}
```
but as you said if the events you want to remove links for keep changing you’ll likely need to find another solution. Perhaps if ( in_category( 123 ) ) where 123 is the ID of a new category you add certain events to (like a “No Links” category)
