Password strength weirdness and issues on registering

When turning on password strength meter on the registration form, I am seeing an additional box appear, that shows the typed password in plain text.

The strength meter does seem to work though, changing colour and text.

When then trying to confirm the password, by typing in the “confirm password” box, it deletes both the original password, and the plain text password.

The form can therefore not be submitted successfully.

I assume the plain text box is meant to be hidden, but there is obviously also some weird behaviour with not being able to confirm the password.

Plugin is up to date.
