    Hi,

    If I need to record some kind of credentials eg hosting login information or access to some other service…

    Is there any way to encrypt this information in the database? Good practice would be to encrypt this so it is never stored in plaintext, and use some kind of decryption in the PHP. I would expect this is a very common need.

    hi o-leary,

    thanks for posting! this is definitely something we’ve come across more than once.

    what I do know is that for this approach to be completely effective, there are multiple layers to consider including the host itself. we are in the process of exploring this sort of service via the plugin but we’re a bit away from it.
