It sounds like a plugin or your theme may be interfering with your login. If you have file level access to your web server, give this a try.
- Using FTP or whatever file management tools your host has provided you with navigate to the
wp-content
directory.
- Once there locate and rename, do not delete, just rename the
plugins
directory to plugins-old
. Just that one directory and nothing else.
- Clear your browser’s cache and try and re-login to your WordPress dashboard.
Were you able to log in after that? This is a temporary step to see if it’s a plugin issue.

That’s good. Did you need to do anything to make that happen? The reason I’m asking is that the steps above may have contributed to your new problem.
If you can provide a link to show the new problem that would be helpful.

First must not use IE (ver 11 – lastest with Win 7 Pro)
The update today entered that IE was not safe (new flash screen)
Iteration using old password.,.. Reset to new high security password.
logged off..
Relog in with reset password.. in.
Started looking around.. 80 percent of all my media is messing.. All pages about 40 have multiple photos. optimized, alt tags, titles, hyperlinks, etc etc. Most gone.
Noticed that two plugins were missing.. one that works with photos..
WP Meta SEO and a few others (can’t remember for sure).
I want to emphasize.. Last night early all was well, this morning after being notified that I must update wordpress… disaster..
I don’t know what else has been affected.. but the above puts me totally out of business..
