I have configured and am receiving a variety of emails through Better Notifications for WP and all seem to be working except the ‘User Lost Password – For User’ email. I am assuming, based on the description in the documentation, this is email a user receives when they click to ‘Reset Password’ and receive an email with a link to do so?

I have updated the format, enabled and saved the email and the system still sends the default WP email.

I have completed the ‘How to receive the best support’ steps shown here and the default system email does show up in the email logs.

Also, the confirmation email ‘Password Changed – For User’ once the user has reset their password is working correctly.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi @svoorhies,
    Thanks for your message.

I’m actually working on a similar issue for another BNFW user at the moment. This mostly happens when another plugin moves the login/register/forgot password form to another page.

Are you using a membership plugin to do this? If so, it might be worth reaching out to that plugin author to see if there’s a way to disable the email functionality built into their form.

Hi @voltronik , I`m having the same issue, I tried the new post published notification and it works perfectly. I was hired to modify some functionalities on a website and according to this:

<blockquote>This mostly happens when another plugin moves the login/register/forgot password form to another page.</blockquote>

I think this may be my issue, the forgot password page is created with a shortcode of Profile Builder Pro. Is there a way I can make this work? The e-mail I`m receiving is the WordPress default.
Also, I`m using polylang for the multilanguage, is there a posibily of sending emails translated based on which language the user made the request?

This plugin is the best solution for me but I`m not able to make it work.
    Thanks

    Hi @alexchirolde,
Has this ever worked with Profile Builder or is this a recent issue?

@voltronik is the first I try it. I have no previous experiences with this plugin. Because of your comment I notice the lost password page was being displayed using a Profile Builder shortcode and I think the issue may be around this.

    Hi @alexchirolde,
Do you have the ‘Email Customizer’ module activated for Profile Builder Pro?
If so, do you have the ‘Password Reset Email’ enabled or disabled?

@voltronik Email customizer module is enabled for profile builder, and about the notifications, I tried both configurations, enabled and disabled, and neither of them works, I`m still receiving the default WordPress email.
The notification I`m overwriting is “User Lost Password – For User”.

    Hi @alexchirolde,
Someone else had this issue recently too.

Are you using the latest version of WordPress + BNFW + Profile Builder Pro?

That email module, and the notification has to be enabled in Profile Builder in order for BNFW to be able to override it. When it’s disabled, Profile Builder completely disable the hook which means no plugin can override the default WP notification.

@voltronik I have the latest version of wordpress, Profile Builder Pro Version 3.0.1, BNFW Version 1.8.4.. And still is not working. If there`s a way I can give you more detailed information(Screenshots, etc) about it I think we can solve this quickly. Thanks

    Hi @alexchirolde,
Does BNFW work if the Profile Builder plugin is disabled? Would like to rule this out.

It might be worth getting in touch with Profile Builder as well as it’s essentially their plugin that is prevent BNFW from being able to override the notification.

@voltronik I`m going to get in touch with them as well. But, as you said before, “Someone else had this issue recently too.” Have you found any solutions to it? Is there any workaround for solving this?

@voltronik I tried the plugin with the default WordPress interface for changing the password at the Url: domain.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
It worked perfectly, now I can say for sure its something about using a different page for placing this form. I wrote to the Profile Builder Pro support team and I havent received any answer yet. Please let me know if you have any thoughts on this.

    Hi @alexchirolde,
    Thanks for your message.

I think the issue was resolved via my suggestions above with the other person. Hoping Profile Builder can provide some more insight though.

@voltronik Thanks for your time but for the next time it`s easier to say this integration with Profile Builder comes as a paid addon… url here:

    https://betternotificationsforwp.com/documentation/add-ons/profile-builder/

Both of us could have saved a lot of precious time.

    Hi @alexchirolde,
That is correct if you want to override the Profile Builder Hobbyist and Pro email notifications with BNFW but not for the default WordPress notifications, even the ones included with Profile Builder – these should still work without having to pay for the BNFW add-on.
