    Hello,

I have two questions related to passwords…

    1) I was curious what type of encryption is used for passwords during account creation. My hope is that salt hashing is being used to secure passwords in the database.

    2) When a password reset is requested, is there any way to achieve this process without sending a plain text password to the user? I’m just not a fan of sending plain text passwords via email.

    Thanks,
    Frank

It uses the same password hashing that WordPress uses. So all the passwords are encrypted and secure in the database.

The password reset password it sends is a temporary and random password. The user uses that to log into the system. As soon as the user logs into the system, they should be changing the password to whatever they like. The members can change their password from the “profile edit” page.
