 * Only once have I successfully added a password protected post but the problem
is that I had to go back to edit it and now I can’t password protect any of them.

Yes I made sure that Private was checked, had a password, everything. When I
try to add a protected post, I check my site and there it is in all its glory
for everyone to see. Any idea what’s causing this or is there a way to fix it?
   I have WP 1.2 installed.

 * Are you logged in as the author of the passworded/private post? WordPress, via
cookies, remembers who you are and knows that you are able to see the passworded/
protected posts. Try logging out and viewing your site.

 * That makes perfect sense. Tried your suggestion and it worked! Thanks!
