Whenever I enter a password on one of my password-protected pages (at ) I get redirected to which causes the error “Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at”

This just started happening with 3.6.1 (just noticed today when a client had the same problem with my site). I updated to 3.7 and still get it.

I tried re-publishing a page and clearing the cache… still no help.

  • I suppose you moved the website from localhost to your domain? Am I right?

Hey vestimir… no, everything’s been running fine for a long time. I have mostly just updated the header image lately. 🙁

I also changed the DNS table in GoDaddy… but all I did was add one A record.

I’m also having trouble logging into WP Admin for some of my other websites (redirect to, so I suspect that my host (AN Hosting) is blocking any access to the wp-login.php file to stop brute force attacks against WordPress websites. I submitted a ticket with them, so I’ll find out soon enough! 🙂

AN Hosting confirmed that they’ve taken network-wide actions to protect sites and servers, and they’ve offered me a workaround. I’ll close this thread now, but it may be instructive for someone else. I recommend contacting your host/provider and asking for a workaround.
