• Hi, I’ve searched for an answer on this but cannot find one so have created this post in hope someone can help.

I have a website with some of the pages ‘password protected’ using the built in WordPress solution in page visibility. These pages now require a password to see them which is great – exactly what i need.

But im finding that other user’s who have this password are having to log in, then they get the ‘are you human’ digit box which they enter the correct details. but then, and this is the issue – the site gets stuck in a loop and ends up not finding the original page we are trying to log in to.

Has anyone else had this issue? Ideally i want to give out the password to a select number of friends to have access you specific pages on my website. All other pages will be public.

Yes ive followed the steps on how to set the password protection up. The issue is when other users try to log in they hit the ‘are you human’ box and then are redirected to a blank page.

Im no techy so at a loss on even where to begin with this.

I have this exact problem too and am Googling around trying to solve it. Pretty sure it’s not to do with a plugin or theme, but everyone I can find mentioning it insists that it is. I have a feeling the “Are you human?” box is thrown up when a certain number of people try to enter the password within a certain time of each other, i.e. when the site is busy. But I don’t know the answer yet…

Your issue may seem the same but could be entirely different and this way you both can get attention.

With that said, the “Are you human?” checkbox does not show up on a clean WordPress install with a default theme. Try switching off your plugins one by one and checking each time to see if the issue is caused by a plugin and switch to a default theme to see if it is theme related.
