Password Protected Page Show actual password

Hi there ~

Is there a way to show the actual password instead of the circles when typing in the password to access a protected page?

When I mess around with the Chrome developer tools I see I need to change the input type from “password” to “text” but not sure how to change it in the code or if it’s possible without messing with core code.
