  • you can use htaccess to set a password for access to the site. google for htaccess protect site or along those lines. or are you talking about protecting directories? not clear

sorry it wasn’t clear. I’ll be specific. I have a “secret” site. I want to hide it from my significant other. What can I do?

how do I get to htaccess? is it from cpanel?

Hmm you can google for this, because there are several ways to protect a WP site, but then you may not need that if you’re trying to protect any old site for which you could use something else.

If you really want to hide it from your SO, then do not access it from any machine that he has access to.
Or tell anyone that knows him about your site.
