Support » Fixing WordPress » Password Protect a Site

  • Hi,

I am building a site and I want the entire site (aside from the home page) to be either password protected or only visible with a login.

Is there a plugin that allows people to view the home page but if they click on a link on the home page, it takes them to a login page (or better yet, has a login screen popup in a lightbox type window)?

    Thanks,

    David

  • “s2member” you can use. however, there are lots of other plugin depending on your requirements.

WP-members works great. You can set default for posts and pages to be blocked. They also have an excerpt function and you can set how many words display. You can show the title and 10-15 words on your home page. When a reader clicks on the title of the post or on the more prompt, it will take them to a page with login and register boxes.

Note that this plugin moves registration and login to the frontend.

I would recommend this widely used plugin
