    That’s a good idea…most of the time, that will be covered by an .htaccess in a parent directory, though, right? I get a “page not found” when I try that on my site.

    @xnau the {participant-database}-multimedia portion of the URL is based on some variable. Do you have a /uploads/*multimedia/ directory ? Some folks don’t have that set in their .htaccess so it may be a smart thing to bundle

    usually, the .htaccess is set up to protect all child directories, it would be impractical to have an .htaccess in every directory.

    Is the plugin uploads directory indexable on your site?

    plugins directory not indexable but doesn’t return a 403..instead just returns a blnk page with <html></html> in the source. Other directories are not indexable either.

    The directory that PDB designates for picture storage is indexable.

    Well, that directory won’t be indexable on most installs that have “Options -Indexes” in their web root .htaccess, but it is a good idea to include a blank “index.php” in the plugin upload directory.
