    Hello,
I want to migrate only a part of a site joomla (Site A) to wordpress (Site B), then a new part was installed and developed last month on wordpress (B site template genesis).
Now I must retrieve archives (old posts) that were created on Joomla (on site A).

    My questions :
    – Entering the import (to Site B), is it possible to choose only the posts (articles) and not to import pages?
    – Does it exist a risk of crushing the newly created content (with wp on site B) by importing posts archives (from the old site in joomla A)?
Thank you for your ideas and your help,
    Pierre

    1. You can’t choose which posts to import. The plugin will import all Joomla posts to WordPress. If you want to import only some of the posts, you can clone the Joomla site, delete the posts you don’t want and run the import of this site. A second solution is to import all posts to WordPress and remove the ones you don’t want afterwards.

    2. If you click on “Empty WordPress content”, it will delete your newly created content that has been created after the import. So be careful, and do a backup first.

Thank you Kerfred, I have to do now.

Do you know if the version of Joomla is important ?
I have an old 1.5 joomla, and seen that usually, I will grade up two times to have the 3 version. And what about the data base (php 4) ?
FG-joomla-to-wordpress can import from an old version ?

The free version of the plugin works with all versions of Joomla except the 1.0. The Premium version works with all versions of Joomla.
The PHP and MySQL versions are not important on Joomla. But on WordPress, you must have at least PHP 5.2 (5.3 or higher is better).
