The plugin doesn’t support displaying the global or product-specific message in an Elementor template.

This plugin works well with most WooCommerce themes quite well. This plugin has been developed keeping WooCoomerce in mind and NOT necessarily keeping elementor widgets in mind. Also, Elementor doesn’t provide any hooks / filters in it’s widgets that we can use to make it compatible. So expecting it to work with doesn’t make any sense.

If this feature is so important to you then you should strongly consider hiring a developer to make this work for you with a core customization.

    Hello,

You are right, it does work with TTF theme for example. I edited my review. I’ll leave it as a warning notice for Elementor users.

The plugin actually works up to a point in Elementor. Only the message is’t displayed.

I’m a bit surprised by your comment about Elementor compatability because there are many other plugins that change the output of Elementor Woo specific elements. If I were to contact Elementor and ask for compatability, what is needed exactly?

Thanks for updating the review. I cannot tell about other plugins as other use different widgets which may have hooks / filters that allow you to modify output.

For us to work with elementor, we need the certain hooks / filters that enable us to change the default output. I don’t recollect the name of the widget which you were referring to but from the last time we looked up on Elementor documentation we couldn’t find anything we could use to make it compatible with our plugin. Can you tell me the name of the widget(s) you are expecting us to work with, so that we can look it up one more time and see if they have added anything we could use?

Sure, it’s called ‘Product stock’: https://elementor.com/help/woocommerce-single-product-stock-pro/

Thanks for sharing. I checked this out but it seems it doesn’t have any details on hooks or filters associated with this widget.

Since you have the pro licence, you can try raising a ticket with them and ask them if they have a any hooks related to this widget. If they share it, we should be able to make it elementor friendly.

There are no hooks in the widget file, I checked. I asked support if they can do anything.

That’s what we had found out sometime ago when someone had raised a similar support ticket. If they had a hook, we could use it to hook our code to modify the status from ‘Out-of-stock’ to ‘Discontinued’. Without their hooks, we cannot do much.

Elementor support is unwilling to do anything. So I created a shortcode to output the message: https://pastebin.com/EFufSE6y

It might be a good idea to build one into the plugin as a fallback for users like me.

    Anyway, thanks!

Agreed. This does make sense. If we add a shortcode like this will actually solve the problems for everyone using Elementor or any custom builder for product pages.
