Parse Error: Theme.PHP (10 posts)

    Out of nowhere I got this error:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '"', expecting T_STRING in /home/content/27/8813927/html/wp-includes/theme.php on line 27

    right when you go to http://www.OttawaRickshaws.ca. I can't even log into the theme now. I used FileZilla to see if I can replace theme.php but I don't know what to replace it with.

    I'm having trouble deciphering what the error warning is telling me. Is there an extra " somewhere?

    What version of WordPress are you using?

    Having a hard time finding that without being able to log in to WP. Is there a file I can check through FTP access to get you that info?

    I updated in March if that helps.

    Have a look in wp-includes/version.php

    This is Line 27 in Theme.php:

    echo(\"123\");

    Try re-uploading all files & folders - except the wp-content folder - from a fresh download of WordPress. Make sure that you delete the old copies of files & folder before uploading the new ones.

    Is there a risk of losing Blog content or is that in WP-Content?

    Providing that you avoid the wp-content folder, there will be no loss of content.

    You're a hero! I started by just replacing Themes.PHP and that was enough. I've learned something new today.
