Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in w3tc-config/master.php

  • I’m new to WordPress and W3 total cache. I’m trying to install it. Right after activating the W3 total cache plugin, I saw:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in w3tc-config/master.php on line 670.

The WordPress site contents are okay but the admin panel is dead. I saw only this message while navigating to any of the admin panel links.

I checked ‘master.php’ and it only has 669 lines. It looks normal to me. I get my admin panel back by deleting the plugin. I installed it several times, and the error message appeared to be random. Sometimes it’s unexpected $end or unexpected ‘)’. It all happens at the end of master.php.

I tried version 0.9.2.5 through 0.9.2.8 all have the same problem.

I’m using WordPress 3.5.1 on nginx 1.2.4, with PHP 5.3.10 through fastcgi and APC 3.1.7 (activated), on Ubuntu 12. I’m also using the nginx-helper plugin but disabling it won’t help.

Could anyone share some insights on how to solve this problem? Thank you.
