# Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING

 * Hello,
 * I am getting the following error when trying to go to my WordPress dashboard:
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /homepages/31/d267335044/htdocs/
   wordpress/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 83
 * I’ve been working on trying to log in to my dashboard all morning. First, I had
   a different error regarding removing unnecessary spaces in certain files. Every
   time I fixed a file, it told me the error was in a new file. Now, I have this
   error. I tried to replace the file in question with a fresh file and it’s still
   giving me this error. I don’t see anything wrong with this file but I’m not sure
   what I’m looking for as I don’t recognize the error.
