# Parse error: syntax error, unexpected '}'

 * Today I wanted to change the custom post type names in my functions.php file,
   after I changed them very carefully, I updated my file and then came across this
   error:
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home/sstwppqn/public_html/wp-content/
   themes/template_theme/functions.php on line 1
 * I went back into Text Wrangler and changed it back to my original copy and re-
   uploaded it. The message is still there. So, I took off the theme and the re 
   uploaded it, error is still showing.
 * I haven’t any clue on how to fix it so I can at least see my WP dashboard..
 * Can anyone please help!

 * This my own theme I developed, everything was working (*edit) great up until 
   20 minutes ago.

   it should be compliant. Otherwise not.

 * I took out my theme and activated the TwentyEleven theme, that theme works ok.

 * I deleted the theme and compressed the files, then uploaded it through the Install
   Theme method. Its back to normal. Now I’ll have to figure out where the heck 
   the problem is in the functions.php code.
