 * I was fiddling with something in my function.php when I got this error message:
 * **Parse error:** syntax error, unexpected ‘<‘ in /**home2/canaudic/public_html/
   womenaware/wp-content/themes/NEW/functions.php **on line **1040**
 * Now I can’t log in to even my dashboard or even access my site. I’m a complete
newbie to WordPress, and I haven’t downloaded WP to my computer.
 * I’ve read some other threads with users who experience the same problem, and
they all recommend doing something with FTP or Cpanel. I haven’t set up FTP beforehand,
and I have no idea if I have “cpanel access”.
 * My question is: how do I access and delete/rename my theme folder if I don’t
have (or at least I don’t think I have) FTP?

 * To fix this you need to overwrite your current file with a working one. You’ll
need some kind of access to the file on your server to do this. Since you don’t
really seem to know how to proceed you’ll need to give more info about your hosting
if you want a more specific answer.

 * The website is hosted by hostmonster.com.
 * Another user who had the same problem was using bluehost. Is there a difference
between the two when it comes to accessing the file?

 * it can if they are not using the same account interface or program. On hostmonster
it say they are using cpanel. if you are not familiar with it you should me looking
   for something called file manager
 * [https://my.hostmonster.com/cgi/help/file_manager](https://my.hostmonster.com/cgi/help/file_manager)
 * it will allow you to browse to your function.php file and replace it
