# Parse error, syntax error

 * Hi!
 * I cannot figure out how to fix this. I receive the error message below when I
   try to access my webpage and when I try to access the wordpress admin site to
   edit my webpage. I understand that unexpected T-STRING means I might be missed
   a comma or something but I am not a developer so I have no idea how to fix this.
   The error showed up after I tried to update plug-ins on the site. Can anyone 
   help?

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING
   or ‘(‘ in /home/content/89/5284589/html/wp-content/plugins/front-end-only-users/

 * when the error is due to a plugin or theme, look for the most appropriate section.
   
   this plugin here [https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/front-end-only-users](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/front-end-only-users)
   is pointing you to the error on line 3 on that route. We do not know the code
   used by the plugin.

 * This is a server conflict. This plugin is most likely not compatible with the
   version you are running. I suggest running a check. Use [this](https://wordpress.org/plugins/php-compatibility-checker/)
   plugin.

 * the plugin is tested with version 5.2.1 try to upgrade php.
    WordPress 5.2.x 
   Requirements php 5.6.20 or higher. 🙂 You’re using the one tested up to WordPress
