    Hi,
after installing and setting up a multisite network, I have one domain configured to map the domain name against a networks subdomain. It works ok until I activate the extended post plugin, which yields a parse error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’, expecting ‘{‘ in /[…]/wp-content/plugins/network-posts-extended/components/NetsPostsUtils.php on line 289

another domain that I haven’t mapped and is called with the network’s subdomain address does not show this error.

Any ideas or help on this?

    Thanks,
    Jan

By the way what php version are you using? Doesn’t work with php 5 anymore. Update your php to 7.2 at least.

    yes, that’s confirmed, I am under 7.3.10

o.k., I need to take that back – at least in part…

So, the domain under which I have setup the network is configured to php 7.3.10 and hence I confirmed above. Now, I got curious and checked the domain which I have mapped to the network domain and it turns out it was configured to run under php 5. I did not think that should make any difference as I assumed the mapping makes the standalone domain get all config from the network, but sure enough, after upgrading the mapped domain to php 7 the error disappeared.

So, looks like I caused you work for nothing on your Sunday and I am awfully sorry for that. Still, your reply pointed me in the right direction to solve the issue. Thanks for that!
