 * Hello,
 * Already 3 times in the past few months (twice in the past month) I’ve been getting
warnings from my site that it has malware. The first couple times my web host
removed it for me and the site was fine afterwards. But this time, even though
my host says he even reinstalled WordPress for me, I only have a parse error
message showing up when I go to my site. It reads…
 * Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘}’ in /home/elvizaco/public_html/wp-includes/
   functions.php on line 2934
 * I can post a few lines of the code before and after line 2934. Any help would
be greatly appreciated. I have already lost a lot of business due to site issues
and I need to figure out why this keeps happening. With my previous host (and
prior to using WordPress) I had a few times that my site got redirected, but
never these malware warnings or parse errors.

 * 3 times? Likely it’s really one time and either you did not close the door on
the attackers or didn’t really delouse your installation properly.
 * Quoting someone else who put it very well:

 * Give those a good read and start cleaning out your installation.

 * Thank you, Jan. I greatly appreciate the response. I will work on this over the
next couple days. My host had fixed it for me initially so all I know is that
it was working fine for a while afterwards and then started up again (first time
a few months went by, second time a few weeks). This last time the parse error
showed up immediately after he stated he had removed the malware, although I
was able to access the CPanel again, which I could not before he intervened.
Then he supposedly reinstalled WordPress for me, although I don’t really know
what all was actually done, and the parse error still showed up. He told me that
meant I had some files damaged. I have since read that some of this code can
stay in there to reinfect. The weird thing is that when this started (the last
time) I had received an email from Google saying my site had an issue, and a
couple days later they wrote me back saying my site was reactivated on AdWords
as there was no longer malware showing up (even though the site is not working).
I wrote them back but have not received a response so far. This is what made
   it more confusing.
