# Parse error

 * I handle the business website for my employer. Each morning I have the same route.
   When I went to so my route this morning I ran into this: Parse error: syntax 
   error, unexpected ‘$value’ (T_VARIABLE) in /home3/cfl/public_html/wp-content/
   plugins/backwpup/vendor/aws/aws-sdk-php/src/functions.php on line 36
 * I tried looking for why this happens and I don’t see anything that can help me.

 * Your `backwpup` plugin seems to be the problem.
 * Access to your Dashboard’s Appearance page, access your server via [SFTP or FTP](https://codex.wordpress.org/FTP_Clients),
   or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting
   provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/plugins/
   and delete `backwpup` plugin

 * I can’t even gain access to that Dashboard to be able to do that.

 * Please re-read my previous reply. You don’t need access to your dashboard to 
   delete the problem plugin.
