• Since the recent update the parent theme is largely overriding the child theme I have. It works perfectly in Firefox but not in Chrome, Safari, etc. It used to work fine accross all browsers but now a lot of the parent theme is taking over. I have compared classes and they haven’t changed. For example my footer should be a burnt red color but in Safari it is brown. And the “Powered by WordPress” is showing up even though I got rid of that long ago. Some of the CSS from my child theme is coming through, just not all of it. Why would my child theme not be working 100% in some of the browsers?

Stupid rookie mistake. I was missing a } in my css. That was enough to throw everything into a tailspin. Had nothing to do with the update. Just a coincidence.
