Parent Categories that don't hold product on themselves won't show up in menu

  • Hi,
I created a sidebar menu to navigate my product catalog which I made with Woocommerce.

The problem is that only parent categories that have product in them themselves show up in the menu.

E.g. the parent category “furniture” is divided into various subcategories but doesn’t hold any product itself, therefore it’s invisible in the menu. The parent category “decoration” has both products and subcategories and thus does show up in the menu.

I cannot disable the “hide subcategories” function cause it would be one big chaos due to many subcategories in my catalog.

You just need to create a custom link in your menu and then put your sub-categories under that. In your custom link, type a “#” pound/hash symbol as the link.

Thanks. I created the menu automatically with Woocommerce though. How would I go about to edit that?
