I am not a fan of Gutenberg but I have noticed a lot of improvements so I am trying again.

Paragraphs are not being displayed on the front end blog page

In the editor, I type in a line of text and then hit return, then type in another line of text and hit return. You can clearly see they are new blocks

When I view the sites blog page, where it displays the excerpt of each blog post, it removes the paragraphs, when I open that post it is fine. Is this how it should work?. To be honest, it is not something I have ever noticed before, maybe it is usual?

No plugins installed and using an unedited Twenty-twenty theme

    Any suggestions?

  • That’s not Gutenberg. You can’t blame it for everything (even though that would be nice).

That’s a standard function with excerpts. All tags are removed and it gets turned into one line of text. It’s the same if you have a list as well – that will be taken out of the list format and and made to run on as one line. It’s standard and has always been like that as far as I’m aware.

    Thanks
