Paragraph vs return on Pages

  • I’ve just started in WordPress and have no coding skills.

I’m trying to write a Page in the TwentyTwelve theme, beginning with lines from a poem, but hitting “return” at the end of each line creates a new paragraph. How do I get a simple “return’ rather than a new paragraph, or failing that, can I reduce the space between paragraphs?

    Thanks for any help,

    Mike

  • Hey there, pressing ‘Shift+Enter’ should insert a single line break rather than creating a new paragraph. If that doesn’t work you can switch to the text tab in the editor and remove the unwanted <p> tags and place a <br /> tag at the end of each line.
