When I send an email with paragraphs, the plugin only inserts 1 <br> tag… it should insert 2 of them? Or it should add <p> tags? Right now all the text is smashed together. please help!

I assume you are sending plain text messages.

Take a look at the “Replace newline characters with html line breaks” and “Filter newlines” settings. Likely both should be set to “Yes”

    OOh great!

how do my emojis get posted as well?

Postie just posts whatever you send it.

If you want more control over your messages consider sending rich text/html messages rather than plain text.

thanks Wayne! Another question: is it possible to post without a post title / subjectline?

Sure. Send an email without a subject line. Also make sure the “Default Title” setting is blank. It is possible that WordPress will generate a title.

    great!

I was wondering if there is a way to convert hashtags to tags.. meaning if the email body has #happiness #joy #peace.. you will remove that text from the body and add tags of happiness, joy, peace…

the reason why is because the email body is coming from a social media post.

Postie doesn’t do that but https://wordpress.org/plugins/hashtagger/ seems to. I haven’t tested it myself.

    wow thank you wayne!

Is there a way to force postie to take incoming html email and post it as plain text? thereby getting rid of emojis or something like that?

You can change the Preferred Text Type setting to Plain and it will use the text version of the email if it is present. Most email clients send both rich and plain text.
