    Is there anything available for WordPress that will provide a single key escape functionality?

    I need a way for someone who is on my site (domestic violence support) to be able to quickly hide the page without leaving the site. I know the person could close the browser but is there a plug-in that would provide this panic button functionality?

    I think you’ve answered your own question there. As far as I know, most scripted attempts to do this would be at a disadvantage, because closing the browser through javascript (for example) prompts the user if they are sure that they want to close the window. Of course, the panic button could send you off elsewhere, but then so can any link. (So you could just have an image linking to a “safe” page)
