Hi,
Please note that the emoticons add-on is an optional extension designed to provide advanced features. It is not required for the basic functionality of wpDiscuz, and there is no need to purchase it if you don’t want to.
These add-ons simply help support the ongoing development of the free wpDiscuz plugin. All essential features—and even many advanced ones—are already included in the core wpDiscuz plugin at no cost. The add-ons are optional tools for users who need very specific functionality, and their purchase helps us maintain the plugin, deliver regular updates, and continue adding new free features for everyone. There are no limitations, no “pro” versions, and no paid upgrades. We also have many new features planned, all of which will be added for free in future releases.
Regarding your question, “How do I disable links instead of emoticons?”
Could you please clarify what exactly you would like to disable? This will help us provide the correct solution.

Why does a link appear instead when I try to paste an emoticon in a comment?
It seems you are trying to paste the HTML version of an emoticon. For security reasons, wpDiscuz removes HTML tags and keeps only the URLs.
If you want to allow URL embedding, please enable the “Image Source URL to Image Conversion” option. You can find this setting in Dashboard > wpDiscuz > Settings > Comment Content and Media.
However, please note that this method of embedding emoticons is not secure.
Alternatively, you can use emoticon Unicode characters or standard symbols, for example:

You can find more Unicode emoticons here: https://emojipedia.org/unicode-8.0

Could you explain to me where to switch this option?
The option is called “Image Source URL to Image Conversion” and can be found in the Dashboard > wpDiscuz > Settings > Comment Content and Media admin page.
For more information, please visit: https://wpdiscuz.com/docs/wpdiscuz-7/plugin-settings/comment-content-and-media/#image-source-url-to-image-conversion

There’s nothing about emojis at that link. I have the “Convert image source URL to image” option checked, and instead of an emoji, a link appears. Please don’t give me links, just explain how to configure the settings so the feature works properly.
Dear Patryk,
You should use Unicode characters or standard symbols instead.

Nonsense, emoticons work without this plugin. I spent a lot of time configuring it, and you guys are making such a mess with just one update.
