Support » Fixing WordPress » Pagination Problems on blog index

  • I have a blog ( and on the homepage, the pagination displays correctly according to the total number of posts and posts showing. So if I have 15 posts and its set to show 5 on the main page it works fine and shows pages 1, 2 and 3 in the pagination. But, when I click on pages 2 and 3, the posts that are displayed don’t change.

    Please help urgently. Thanks in advance.

  • Bumping this up. I really need some help with this problem if anyone has any advice. Thanks in advance.

    Your theme’s index.php, does it have a query_posts call anywhere in it?

    No. It only uses

    while (have_posts()) : the_post();

    How about the header.php? Is there the word “query_posts” anywhere in your theme?

    What I’m trying to figure out is where you’re losing the pagination. Anything that changes the query can cause it, but the most common culprit is incorrect usage of the query_posts function.

    Failing that, disable all your plugins, see if the problem goes away. If so, reenable them one at a time until you know which plugin is doing it.
