I know that the post navigation doesn’t work when filtering, but if it’s possible to do this with the load more button, will it work?

Unfortunately not right now, but I will probably add a load more button in the future. Then it will work 🙂

This actually might work if you change the display: none to visibility: hidden, the filtering should also work. But I haven’t tested it yet.

Unfortunately, for the filtering to work correctly you need to make adjustments to the JS code.

I will probably develop my own ajax load more solution. And then I will release it as a part of Divi Filter. So it’s easy to set up with a class.
