Seems version 14.0 has implemented image caching to webp files with no option to turn off or modify setting. How can I disable image caching?
    Thanks!

Yikes, yikes, I want to know the same thing! I did NOT agree to use webp garbage.

WAIT, WTF!?!?!? MANY of us use complex image managers (mostly because WC has pitifully few settings) and do NOT want anyone fvcking with our image handling, OR caching, ESPECIALLY un-announced and un-requested changes!

I thought Automattic was bad about inserting unwanted crap… 😮

I’m really really close to not waiting for this beast to get fixed and start looking for ANYthing else. Unbefvckinglievable.

I have disabled Yoast until more control is given over this image management/caching setting. Very disappointed with Yoast.

    Is this true?

Plugin authors, please reply. Many of us do not want anyone touching our image files!

We can confirm that Yoast SEO v14.* releases don’t come with any sort of image caching that affects the webp image format, nor any other types of image format at all. If you are experiencing an issue with the webp image format, it might be related to the Cloudflare (if you are using Cloudflare on your site though).
