PageSpeed criticises “caching of fonts” etc.

I have used Google PageSpeed and it reports “Delivering static content with an efficient cache policy”. In the .htaccess file, however, I see entries for woff and woff2, for example, yet such files are shown as resources in the test result.

Hello @kankadev

Thank you for reaching out and I am happy to assist you with this.

As I can see you have some custom rules besides W3 Total Cache Browser Cache rules which may cause conflict.

I would recommend either removing those rules to deflate and mod_expires and letting the W3 Total Cache handle those files, or disabling the Browser Cache rules for Media&Other files in Performance>Browser Cache.

EWWW edits the .htaccess, too, because of webp files. But I don’t know where the other rules come from and which to delete.

Wow. We had an issue with mod_expires. It works now. Google critises only 6 instead of 21 Ressources now. JS, JPEG and PNG left. 🙂

As I can see all images have the cache control header now.

So the problem most likely was a duplicate rules.
