Support » Fixing WordPress » Pages won’t allow any changes

  • I am unable to make any changes to any of my website pages. The original creator was using PageLayer, but the link seems to be broken… I am unable to edit anything in PageLayer – it just keep getting this:

    404 Not Found
Please forward this error screen to danceprojectmovement.com's WebMaster (that's me).
The server can not find the requested page:

    danceprojectmovement.com/test/?&pagelayer-live=1 (port 443)

AND there are literally NO pages left in WordPress. I’ve deleted everything and it’s still showing all of this! I’ve published an updated page in both WordPress and PageLayer and nothing is changing the website…

I have disabled all plug-ins except PageLayer, deleted all pages from WordPress and deleted all Themes from both platforms. Tried changing themes… I’m SO FRUSTRATED!

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

Please deactivate ALL plugins, including PageLayer. Switch to the Twenty Twenty-one theme. Install it if you need to. Create a new page using the default editor. Does publishing it show up on the live site?

Restore your normal theme. Is the page still there? If yes in both steps, there’s an issue with PageLayer itself. Seek assistance through its dedicated support channel. In the mean time, delete the test page and reactivate PageLayer to restore the site’s earlier state.

Thank you for the reply!! But that didn’t work. I got an error on the page that states “publishing failed. the response is not a valid JSON response”.

Are there any issues flagged under Tools > Site Health?
