• Hello Team,

    I checked on several sites that I maintain that on some pages of categories that have pagination, two different canonicals are displayed.

    <link rel="canonical" href="https://domain.com/page/2/" />
    <link rel="prev" href="https://domain.com/" />
    <link rel="next" href="https://domain.com/page/3/" />
    <link rel="canonical" href="https://domain.com/" />

    The generated code is in that order. The same happened on more than one website.

    There shouldn’t be two canonical url.

    In the AMP version of the respective pages are being displayed correctly.

    Yoast version: 14.2
    Yoast News version: 12.4.1
    Yoast Test Helper: 1.6

    Thanks.

  • Hi @mrberwanger,

    You’re right, there can only be one canonical URL. If you’re seeing two of these meta tags, there may be a conflict with another plugin or your theme.

    Just to be sure, we recommend doing a conflict check using Yoast SEO version 14.2 on a test site or using the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin.

    We have a step-by-step guide that will walk you through the process here: How to check for plugin conflicts.

    Can you let us know the results?

    Hello Priscilla,

    Performing the reindexing, deactivating and activating the plugins again solved the problem.

    Thanks,
    Marcelo Berwanger
