Pages turned into uncategorized Posts after DB reset…

  • Updates for plugins weren’t showing up on my plugins Dashboard so I tried to force a reset of my database by altering the database version. It appears to have converted all my Pages to uncategorized Posts. What am I looking for in my database to change them back to Pages?

  • That sounds nasty. MySQL isn’t an area I particularly excess at, but unless your pages contain some sort of metadata indicating that they are actually pages, you will have a hard time writing a query to get them where they belong. I suspect this is going to become a tedious manual task.

Hopefully someone else can correct me, for your sake.

I think I can go in, find the Posts which are uncategorized and change their post_type to Page. I only have about 30+ of them to change.

This situation also inserted a ton of \’s into my database. I have to figure out how to remove those. There are hundreds of them.

The good news is I had backed up my database last week, so I’m all good.
