There’s some werid redirect issue going on. First, go to your “permalinks” settings page and hit save(weird, I know.) and see if that fixes it. If not, try changing the structure to a different type and save settings.
If you still have a non-starter, try turning off all plugins. If that doesn’t stop it, leave them off and change to the default twentyeleven theme. Whether or not that gets it, please update us so that the next person who has the same issue can find the solution.
I tried each step and nothing worked. 🙁 Any other ideas?
What happens if you use the default permalinks?
I was originally on default, and the redirect thing is happening. I switched to another setting and it is still redirecting.
Have you tried:
– deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
– switching to the Twenty Eleven theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.
– resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.
I didn’t have any plugins installed, but I checked them and selected deactivate anyway, just in case. Then I switched to Twenty Eleven and that didn’t fix it either.
I did not reset the plugins folder but I will do that now.
I just reset the plugins folder. That didn’t work either. 🙁
Can we see your site using the Twenty Eleven theme, please?
Okay…I just changed it. Thanks!
Do you have any more suggestions? 🙂
Is the “/hp_wordpress/” supposed to be part of your url? It’s unusual.
My url is saddleandspurs.com but then I have that directed to http://saddleandspurs4h.com/hp_wordpress/ . I didn’t know if that is unusual…I just set it up through my hosting provider. I do a couple of websites but I am no expert for sure.
I would try uninstalling WordPress then re-install it just direct it through http://saddleandspurs4h.com not like how you had it originally.
I do not know if I can do that through my host…I just clicked to add wordpress to that domain and this is how it automatically set it up. Do you think that is what is causing my problem? I have two other wordpress sites set up the same way and there is no redirect issue.
Well if that is the case then no that is probably not the problem but maybe just try re-installing WordPress?
