I recently moved my site over to a new domain. I wanted a new start, fresh and clean, so I had a new WordPress install, and took nothing over from my old site. When I try to use pages (I use page templates), though, I get 404 errors. At first I thought it was a permalink problem, something to do with mod_rewrite, but my post archives’ permalinks work perfectly. I don’t know what the reason is for this problem, but it’s frustrating. Any body able to help me out?

  • I think ive had a problem before where post links worked, but pages didnt…
    link to site?

try turning your permalinks off, then see if pages work.

Nope, that doesn’t solve it. The site link is http://avinashv.net. Currently, I’ve only made the archives page, so that’s the only link in the navigation that would work.

Fixed – it seems that WordPress might generate a .htaccess file with glitches from time to time. I regenerated, then manually checked to make sure nothing was wrong.
