Pages not using in admin console

HI,
I upgraded wordpress to the latest and I noticed that during the update and also during my plugin updates that I no longer see the update process. I have to refresh the page to get the message that wordpress is up to date. Before I would see progress updates on the screen of – downloading, unpacking, installing, finished. Any ideas ? I am running centos 6.6 apache 2.2.5. I updated the memory usage in php.ini to 2048mb and it really didn’t change much.
