Support » Plugin: Breadcrumb NavXT Multidimension Extensions » Pages listed in the last position together with CPT

  • Thanks for a great plugin, however I am having two issues. First, the separator is not entering the markup no matter what I do.

More importantly, I have a custom post type and custom taxonomy for it. This CPT is of ‘page’ type and its taxonomy is hierarchical. I get all regular pages from the site show up on the mouse-over in the same position with this CPT. I was expecting complete separation by post type.

I hope my explanation is clear enough, else I’ll send pictures. 🙂

The HTML markup for the Multidimension Extensions breadcrumb trail does not contain a separator since it is based on a nested list. This is akin to the bcn_display_list() function that does not use the separator. It is up to the user to provide CSS to style the breadcrumb trail and insert separators as they see fit. See https://mtekk.us/archives/guides/vista-like-breadcrumbs-for-wordpress/ for an example of styling the output of Multidimension Extensions.

As for the second issue, are you using bcn_display_list_multidim() or bcn_display_list_multidim_children()?

Breadcrumb NavXT uses separator and I see no reason why Multidimension Extensions should not or could not use it too. When you are not mousing over the breadcrumbs and they display as a chain, the links of that chain sure could use a separator. It’s just a usability thing.

I am not using it anymore. I appreciate you trying to help, but it’s moot since I dumped it.
    Thanks.
