Pages linking to old or deleted page/post

I am currently developing two websites for my company using wordpress 2.9.2
One in English and one in Japanese.

On the English site, i deleted a page called stakeholder. Later I created a new page named the same (it created a slug “stakeholder-2). I removed the old “stakeholder” page from the trash and then edited the slug of the correct page to “stakeholder” Everything was fine until I added a page called “press room.” Now when I click on the stakeholder page, it redirects me to the “press room” page. I can see that it is redirecting because “stakeholder” shows up in the address bar momentarily.

I have a similar issue on the Japanese site, however, all of a sudden, my static home started redirecting to post.

Not quite sure what to do. Can anyone help?
