I have noticed, sometimes my pages have been crawled without CSS by Google. I was checking the Google cache when I saw this. I have no idea how and when this is happening, but purging all helps to resolve the issue for some time.

As I am logged in typically I never see an actual issue on the site, I cannot say for sure if it is always ok for not logged-in users. So, it is pretty hard for me to reproduce this problem, as the Google cache does not refresh that often. I can just say that this has been happening multiple times already over the course of the last year. I have various sites, and those that have had this issue are running the same theme.

I want to make sure Google crawls my site correctly, so I would like to find a permanent fix for this. Do you have any idea or suggestion what this could cause?

    Thank you!

You should read this to get a basic understanding what this issue is caused by:

Ok cool, thank you! I did not know about Guest Mode. My Page Speed Scores are excellent now. So, you are saying that enabling Guest Mode will prevent the issue I had from happening in the future?

So, you are saying that enabling Guest Mode will prevent the issue

No, it’s causing the issue, which begs the question, do you have Guestmode enabled?

No, I didn’t have it enabled before

Then, there is no reason or cause why Google can see an unformated page?! The Guestmode gives the only reason, but if you didn’t enable this function then there must be other reasons that are not caused by the cache plugin.

But purging all (and then reindexing in Google Search Console) resolves the issue. It must be the cache plugin.

In order to solve the issue, one would have to go deeper. At first it cannot be explained. Have you enabled asynchronous CSS loading? If yes, disable it.

Yes, I had this activated. It is now bypassed due to UCSS Inline

Maybe this could help already? I have much better pagespeed scores now, so if UCSS Inline does not cause such an issue, it would be great to keep it like that. What do you suggest?

    What do you suggest?

Give it a try, but the better method would be the Guestmode instead, but not without any risk. Optimizing websites is always individual. Some tweaks work, some don’t. That depends on your theme and installed plugins. In case of doubt, the person who programmed your theme or plugins is responsible for this, because these people do not make sure that their code is optimized.

Yes, I am trying now with Guest Mode. Thank you very much for the help!
